Irish Soda Bread (with fruit & spice)


A traditional Irish recipe with a twist of fruit and spice.

Every chunky slice is delicious with a generous spread of butter, with a cuppa!

Makes one loaf.





Heat oven to 200°C / 390°F / 180°C fan oven / Gas Mark 6

Grease & line baking tray.

Add 12 g butter (softened) to bowl.

Stir in 225 ml buttermilk.

Add jar contents & mix together.

Turn out onto flour-dusted surface and gently bring mixture into a ball.

Place on baking tray. Gently cut a big cross on top using flour-dusted sharp knife.

Bake for approx. 30 minutes until crusty on outside.

Cool on a wire rack.

Serve a slice with butter!
